Most of us at one point or another have downloaded a dating app for any variety of reasons. Maybe we were lonely, or love meeting new people, or were just plain bored while lying in bed at night. Tinder and Plenty of Fish are two mega popular dating applications that give us these options. Overall, both apps are easy to navigate and free to sign up for a basic account. Both offer a premium account for an extra charge that will give you some added perks.
Why we're giving up on dating apps to find love
Why Dating Apps Are Full of Guys With Fish Photos
When it comes to finding a dating app for those who are single and ready to mingle, there are plenty of fish—we mean dating apps—in the sea. It is, however, a challenge to find the right app if one is going for quality rather than quantity. Tinder may be dishing out options left and right, but when it comes to settling for the right and possibly long-term partner, one will need to swim against the current tide of ho-hum dating apps. Hinge is the perfect alternative for those who dislike Tinder.
Dating apps fish
Want to share yours? In a photo on his Tinder profile, John Prioli is standing on a pier in Greenpoint, the Manhattan skyline in the distance, holding a live striped bass slightly larger than the size of a standard pillow. After the photo was taken, Prioli released the bass back into the East River, as he does with most of his catches. For the past five years, Prioli, a year-old North Carolina native who lives in Brooklyn, has used a handful of dating apps off and on — Tinder, Bumble and Hinge — and built profiles featuring similar photos. I first discovered the trend when my friend, over at her apartment for dinner, asked if she could play around with my Bumble app — and once she pointed it out, I started seeing fish everywhere.
If you're not sure about which dating site you should sign up for AKA spend money on or which app to download, testing them out for free first is a great idea. But for some dating apps and sites, the free version may actually be all you need. Online dating is hard, y'all — but so is dating in person. Basically, dating is just the worst. Until you find someone you truly vibe with, that is.
